The Remote Desktop Connection is pre-installed on all Windows systems and allows direct access to the server's desktop interface. To establish a Remote Desktop connection to your server, proceed as follows:
Prerequisites:
You wrote down the IP address of the server to which you want to establish a connection.
- Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection.
The Remote Desktop Connection window opens.
- Click Show Options.
- In the General tab, enter the server's IP address in the Computer field.
- Enter the user name in the User Name field.
Optional: To save the login data, activate the Allow saving login data check box.
- Click Connect.
The Windows Security dialog box opens.
- Enter the password.
- Click OK.

Optional: Activate the check box Don't ask me again for connections to this computer..
Optional: Click Yes.
The Remote Desktop connection will be established.
