For any server with Plesk, applications like Drupal should always be installed and managed through the Plesk interface. Follow the instructions in this tutorial to learn how to install and run Drupal on a Plesk server
- A server with Plesk (any operating system)
- PHP version 5.5.9 or later.
If you attempt to install Drupal on a server which does not have PHP version 5.5.9 or later installed, you will get an error message.
To update PHP on a server running Plesk, follow the steps in this article.
This tutorial uses the Power User view. You can change the Plesk view by clicking Change View at the bottom of the column on the left.
In the Plesk admin panel, go to Applications.
Drupal is available as a Featured Application. Click to install Drupal.
Drupal will download. This process can take several minutes.
Select the domain where you wish to install Drupal, then click Install.
Wait for the Drupal installation to finish. When it is complete, you will be directed to the Drupal management page.
After installing Drupal, you can manage the installation from the Applications page.
Select the Drupal installation for your domain.
This will take you to the admin page for the domain's Drupal installation.
Click Public access entry points > Site to view the website.
For security reasons, we recommend that you turn on Automatic Updates.
Click Change Settings to change the settings for the Drupal website.
This will allow you to change the administrative user name and password, database user name and password, and the site administrator's user name and email address. After you have made the changes, click OK.
