Create Git Repository in HiDrive

Git is a free software for distributed versioning. When you use Git together with HiDrive you can simultaneously work on the same projects with many users at the same time.

Requirements
  • HiDrive Pro package or other HiDrive package in combination with the Professional Protocols add-on
  • Administrator permissions in HiDrive or administrator privileges granted by another HiDrive administrator

To be able to use Git in your HiDrive account:

  • If not already done, please log in to your HiDrive account.
  • In the menu bar, select Settings > Account > Access Rights and Protocols.
  • Click on the pen icon.
  • Activate the Git checkbox.
  • Complete your changes by clicking on Save.

To create a Git repository in your HiDrive account, proceed as follows:

  • If not already done, please log in to your HiDrive account.
  • In the menu bar, please select My HiDrive > My Files or My HiDrive > Shared Files.
  • Right click into the Details view.
  • Select Create Git Repository.
  • Enter a name for your repository and complete your settings by clicking on Create.
  • Use the displayed URL to connect your local Git repository to your Git repository on HiDrive.
Notes
  • Please only use Git to commit changes to your repository. Changes made by using other protocols or the HiDrive Files Manager may lead to corrupted data.
  • Please note HiDrive does not offer support for remote hooks.
