With the free HiDrive app for Android, you have access to HiDrive and all of its functions from your smartphone or tablet.
Install the free HiDrive app from the Google Play Store to your Android smartphone or tablet. Then, start the app.
Log in to HiDrive with your login details.
After logging in, you will be in the My Files directory. Here you can see all of the files in your HiDrive Online Storage that are synced and available for you.
Showing Your Files
Tap the folders to navigate to your files. To access the menu, touch the menu icon at the top or wipe from the left to the right. There you can switch to the Shared Files folder.
Files and folders can be displayed as thumbnails or in lists. You can change the view using the icon at the top right.
If you have a large number of images, the thumbnails can affect performance. If this is the case, it is recommended that you deactivate the Show thumbnails function in the Settings menu. This displays files and folders in lists instead.
With the HiDrive app, you can share individual files and folders with others. To do this, select the file or folder you want to share, and then tap the Share icon at the top. After the share has been created, you can copy the link, send it by email, open it in the browser, or delete it. Tap Edit sharing to limit its validity in days and the number of downloads it can allow.
You will find an overview of all releases in the menu. The menu can be accessed through the menu icon at the top left or by swiping from left to right.
To edit a share link, select the file or folder. In the top right of the menu, click the 3 vertical dots and select Edit share link to set the duration of its validity and maximum number of downloads. Approvals can be cancelled in the same way. If you have selected a share and touch Delete, you are asked whether you want to delete the share link or delete the file. In this case, choose Delete Share link.
Tap on the menu icon at the top left or swipe from the left to the right to access the Settings. Several different options are available there.
Automatically upload photos: Here you can specify whether photos and/or videos are to be uploaded automatically to yoursHiDrive. You have the choice whether the upload only takes place with an active WLAN connection or also via a mobile data connection.
Display file extensions: If this option is activated, file extensions such as .pdf or .jpeg are displayed in the app.
Display system folder: Here you determine whether the system folder (files with a leading dot, example: ".folder") is displayed.
Show preview photos: Activate this function if you want thumbnails to be displayed by default. This results in additional bandwidth usage, which can lead to longer loading times.
Security > Password protection: You can secure your HiDrive app with a four-digit PIN code. This must then be entered at the start of the app.
Send error reports: If you enable this, errors can be detected and fixed more quickly.
