Change Your Password for Microsoft Exchange® 2019

If you have forgotten the password for your Microsoft Exchange 2019 account or would like to change it, you can assign a new one after logging in to 1&1 IONOS. We'll show you how to do it here.

Since we store your email passwords encrypted for your security, we cannot send them to you. If you are not authorised to access the 1&1 IONOS account, you can change your email password using the Exchange xAdmin tool.

Guided Steps (Admin User)

For users with access to the 1&1 IONOS account

  • Log in to 1&1 IONOS.
  • In the My Products area, click Email & Office.
  • Click on the corresponding contract in which the product is located (if necessary).
  • Click on the email address for which you want to change the password.
  • Click on Password.
  • Now enter your new password. Please use a particularly secure password here. Finally, save the new password with the Change password button.

The password change is now complete. It may take up to 15 minutes for the change to take effect.

Guided Steps (xAdmin)

For users with access to the Exchange Admin Tool (xAdmin)

  • Log in to the xAdmin tool.
  • Click on Password.
  • Now enter your new password twice. Please use a particularly secure password here. Finally, save the new password with the Change password button.

The password change is now complete. It may take up to 15 minutes for the change to take effect.

If you use an email program for your account, such as Outlook, or synchronise your data on mobile devices, the new password must also be entered there. If mobile devices continue to log on with the old password, the account may be blocked. You can find out which mobile devices you have connected with ActiveSync in the Outlook Web App (OWA).
