In order to use your IONOS Managed Nextcloud package, a one-time activation through your IONOS account is required. This article explains how to do this.

To activate your Managed Nextcloud for the first time:

  • Log in to your IONOS Customer Account.
  • Click on Menu > Nextcloud in the title bar. If you are also using other IONOS Cloud Storage products, then click on Menu > Cloud Storage.
  • On the desired Managed Nextcloud tile, click the Set up Managed Nextcloud button.
  • Set a name for the subdomain that will be used to open your Nextcloud. By default, nextcloud is suggested. Your Managed Nextcloud will then be opened using the structure subdomain.domain.tld, e.g. nextcloud.example.co.uk.
  • Optional: To use a different domain from your contracts, click the Show all domains in all contracts button.
  • Create the admin user. You will receive an email at the address you specified that you can use to assign a password. Note that this password assignment uses the default password reset feature of Managed Nextcloud.

After you assign a new password, you will be automatically redirected to the dashboard of your Managed Nextcloud instance. Use the icons on the Managed Nextcloud title bar to access the apps you have already installed and begin using them.

Notes
  • Only one Managed Nextcloud instance can be used per subdomain.
  • All other settings, such as user creation and app integration, are made directly in your Managed Nextcloud.
