For the Website Builder and the MyWebsite

In this article you will learn how to store a Search Engine Optimised (SEO) page description for your MyWebsite.

A page description can make the search result of your homepage more accurate. The default setting is automatically applied to all subpages that do not have an individual description.

Instructions for customising the subpages can be found in the article Edit Page Title and Description of Individual Pages.

This article describes features of the Website Editor ordered before 06.09.2017.
For other versions of the Editor select Editor version.

Step 1
Step 2

On the main menu, click Settings.

Step 3

In the Personalise and Customise Website area, click SEO and Footer.

Step 4

You will now see a form with fields for page title, page description, meta tags (keywords) to refine the search results and the information for your footer including copyright.

Click the i-icon to the right of the fields for more information. Finally, accept the change by clicking on Save.

The settings made here are also automatically displayed on all subpages. Customise the description and title of each subpage to further improve the display of your search results.

Please note: After submitting the MyWebsite to search engines, the ranking in the search results depends on many different factors of the individual search engine providers such as Google and Bing.
