Personal consultant for all customers / comprehensive range from domains to enterprise cloud / business apps for small and mid-sized businesses
Karlsruhe / Berlin, 29 October 2018
1&1, the largest European hosting provider, is joining forces with ProfitBricks, the German specialist for cloud infrastructure solutions, to form IONOS by 1&1.
With the launch of the new united brand, all customers will, for the very first time, have the opportunity to use a personal consultant free of charge as their central contact person for all questions regarding products, their contract, and becoming successful online.
IONOS by 1&1 is the first hosting provider that is able to guide companies through all phases of their businesses development – from creating their first website or establishing a shop system, to launching their own servers or implementing IONOS by 1&1’ self-developed enterprise cloud infrastructure. In addition, companies have the opportunity to use numerous cloud applications that support their business.
ProfitBricks was acquired by 1&1’s parent company United Internet AG in 2017 and has now been merged into the new IONOS by 1&1 brand. Founder of ProfitBricks, and CEO of IONOS by 1&1, Achim Weiss is responsible for the strategy and product development of the new company.
The IONOS by 1&1 brand now operates in 10 countries, with data centres in Europe and the USA that comply with the highest European security and data protection guidelines.
"At 1&1, I personally experienced and helped shape the growth from a small internet startup to an international provider. With IONOS by 1&1, we can now cleverly combine the strengths of the European web hosting market leader and the leading German cloud provider," says Achim Weiss.
"With our new personal consultant, which is now available to all customers worldwide free of charge, we are demonstrating that the customer is really the focus of our corporate philosophy – an offer that no other provider can match".
IONOS replaces the 1&1 Internet and ProfitBricks brands in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Spain, and the United States. Other companies of the 1&1 group offering DSL, mobile internet, and high-speed fibre-optic connections in Germany are not affected by the merger.
