Managed service
No time for server admin?
Lacking the time or capacity to manage your own server? With a managed server provider, you'll have more time to focus on your project or your business as we manage your dedicated server infrastructure for you.
Not only will this save you time, but also resources. With an IONOS Managed Server, your IT team can focus on your staff and software needs rather than on admin and maintenance. Depending on your expenses, this may lead to greater savings on personnel and infrastructure or result in efficiency gains.
World-class service and infrastructure
We have over 30 years' experience in managing and maintaining server, hosting and cloud infrastructure. Our experienced server technicians and experts will maintain your server infrastructure 24/7, and take care of all core updates.
Choose from server configurations featuring powerful Intel® or AMD processors, DDR 4 ECC RAM, and HDD or SSD storage.
Spin up a UK-based server in a matter of hours. All your data is backed up and stored securely in accordance with local data protection laws.

Hardware and resources
All of our managed servers are built with the latest hardware and feature powerful Intel® processors with RAID 1 hardware or software depending on your chosen configuration. You can also choose from AMD processors.
Advanced HDD and SSD storage technologies mean enhanced server performance, especially when you're pulling data from the backend. And your resources are completely dedicated, rather than virtualised or shared, so you won't suffer from the "noisy neighbour effect." This means more performance and less latency for your projects.
Managed servers
There are many benefits to managed server hosting, with the number one advantage being uninterrupted service and improved backup and disaster recovery. IONOS has redundant servers, network protection and automated backup processes and support to assure against data loss. Managed servers also allow for increased security measures, lower operating costs, and highly customisable services to meet your business requirements.
Managed dedicated servers generally make life much easier for the user, as these come with the full support of the hosting company and very little technical knowledge is necessary to set one up. IONOS does the hard work and delivers support as part of our managed server service, as well as handling component installation, server reboots, security maintenance, status monitoring, automated backups, and more. This option saves you a lot of time and stress.
Conversely, unmanaged hosting does typically allow more freedom and control over the server, but requires the user to install scripts, set up the control panel and operating system, handle the software and hardware maintenance and take care of all security concerns. Unmanaged hosting might seem cheaper at first but often ends up being far more expensive over the lifecycle of the server. In essence, it’s a very DIY approach to hosting.
There are several main differences between shared hosting and managed server hosting. For one, a dedicated server means that your business or organisation is the only user connected to the server, while a shared option means that other users will share the server with you in order to save costs. It’s also important to consider bandwidth and disk space, as you’ll have less to work with on a shared server, while managed servers give you resources that are entirely your own.
Some businesses prefer dedicated hosting for better server performance and response time, as well as a higher level of control and security, but others may like shared hosting if the amount of web traffic isn’t worthy of a managed dedicated server.
