Activating Nextcloud Workspace
Valid for Nextcloud Workspace.
To be able to use IONOS Nextcloud Workspace, a one-time activation in the IONOS account is required. This article explains how to do this.
Perform activation
To activate Nextcloud Workspace for the first time:
- Log in to your IONOS account.
- Click on Menu > Nextcloud Workspace in the title bar. If you also use other IONOS cloud storage products, click on Menu > Cloud Storage.
- Click on the Set up now button on the desired Nextcloud Workspace tile.
- Specify a name for the subdomain that will be used to access Nextcloud Workspace. By default, nextcloud is suggested. Your Nextcloud Workspace is then accessed according to the pattern subdomain.domain.country code, e.g. https://nextcloud.example.co.uk
- Optional: To use a different domain from your contracts, click on the Show all domains in all contracts button.
- Create the administrator user. Note that you will receive an email with a link to set the administrator password at the address used in the setup dialog.
First steps after activation
After you have assigned an administrator password as described above, you will be automatically redirected to the dashboard of your Nextcloud Workspace instance. You will find the app menu in the top right-hand corner of the Nextcloud Workspace menu bar, which you can use to start applications such as Calendar and Contacts. Further information on apps can be found in the Help Centre article "Apps and integrations in Nextcloud Workspace". Please note that not all apps are active at the start.

Only one Nextcloud Workspace instance can be used per subdomain.
