Working with files in Nextcloud Workspace

Within Nextcloud Workspace, you can share files with other users or groups, and edit them together. This article explains how to do this.
Upload files
To upload files to Nextcloud Workspace:
- Log in to Nextcloud Workspace.
- Click on the apps menu (3x3 square) in the top menu bar.
- Select Files from the menu. An overview of your existing folders and files is displayed.
- Click on the New. A context menu is displayed.
- Select Upload files to upload a local file to Nextcloud Workspace.
Share files
To share a file in Nextcloud Workspace:
- Log in to Nextcloud Workspace.
- Click on the apps menu (3x3 square) in the top menu bar.
- Select Files from the menu. An overview of your existing folders and files is displayed.
- Click on the … icon in the line of the desired file. A context menu opens.
- Click on Open details. A sidebar is displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Enter the name of a user or group in the search field of the sidebar. Each character is used to further restrict the applicable users or groups.
- Click on the desired user or group with whom you would like to share the file. The share is granted and the users are informed by email.
If you want to revoke the share at a later date, click on the … icon next to the name of the user or group in the Sharing tab of the sidebar. You can remove the access with Delete share.
