Updating IONOS customer data
Please use the “Print” function at the bottom of the page to create a PDF.
This article explains how to quickly and easily change your customer data, for example your address, phone number, or email address, for your IONOS account.
Notes
- It is not possible to switch from a corporate customer to a private customer, or vice versa.
- If you change your customer data, it will be changed in all existing contracts under the customer number.
- To change the country stored in the address data, please contact IONOS Customer Support.
Change your data
- Log in to your IONOS account.
Click Menu > My account in the top navigation.
Click on Show in the My customer data tile. The Your customer data page is displayed.
To update your contact details, click Edit in the Name, Address and/or Contact areas.
Click on Save to finalise your entry.
In the Contact area, you also have the option of entering an additional email address for receiving invoices and all payment-related information. The Help Centre article "Viewing and downloading invoices in your IONOS account" provides you with details.
Effects on domain contact data
Changing your customer data has no influence on the domain contact data you have stored, such as domain holder data (Reg-C). If necessary, you must change these yourself in the domain settings. Further information on this can be found in the Help Centre article "Editing domain contact details".
If you have registered generic domains (e.g. .com, .net, .org, as well as all new domain extensions such as .space, .shop, etc.), you must also update the domain contact data via your domain administration in your IONOS account after changing your contact data.
After changing the domain ownership, you must inform the relevant domain registry. A domain registry is the organisation responsible for the administration and allocation of domain names under a specific top-level domain (TLD). These changes may be associated with costs.
