SEA (Search Engine Advertising) is a form of online marketing in which adverts are placed on search engines like Google. This is to increase the visibility of a website, and attract targeted visitors and customers. Some rankingCoach plans include Search Engine Advertising with Google Ads. This article explains how billing of Google Ads works with rankingCoach.

Billing on the IONOS invoice

Due to a time-delay, different values are shown between the Google Ads billing and the corresponding item on the IONOS invoice. The following information below shows you how you can compare the billing. Please note that these are sample values that differ from your invoice.

You will find the following information on the IONOS invoice:

Billing date (08/04/2025): The date on which your rankingCoach contract will be billed by IONOS for the upcoming billing period.
Date below basic fee (08/04/2025 - 09/05/2025): The period for the upcoming billing period at IONOS.
Advertising budget for the previous billing period (£250.00): The costs incurred for your Google Ads campaign in the previous billing period. Please note that Google reports costs incurred with a delay of 5 days to IONOS.

To compare the amount of the IONOS invoice with the Google Ads invoice, you must filter in Google Ads for a billing period from 03/03/2025 to 03/04/2025. This is the shifted billing period resulting from the 5 days: 03/03/2025 to 03/04/2025 = 08/03/2025 to 08/04/2025 minus 5 days.

The amount displayed in Google Ads (£250.00) for the period from 03/03/2025 to 03/04/2025 corresponds to the amount on the IONOS invoice minus the VAT.
Taxable Portion: The displayed advertising budget amount (Google Ads costs) of £250.00 is shown including VAT.
