Creating a banner image in your Online Shop

A banner image, also known as a hero image, is a large-format banner displayed on a website. It is usually used at the top of the page to attract the viewer's attention. In the IONOS Online Shop, the banner image element is available for this purpose. In contrast to the image slider, the banner image element offers you additional options. This article explains what you need to know about incorporating the banner image element.
Use banner image element
- Log in to your IONOS account.
- Click on Menu > Websites & Shops in the title bar.
Optional: Choose your desired Online Shop, if you have more than one contract. - Click on Manage your Online Shop.
- Click on Editor in the Online Shop main menu.
- Click on Pages in the left-side menu.
- Select the page you want to edit or add a new page. A preview of the page is displayed to the right of the menu column.
- Click on Content > Banners > Banner image in the left-side menu.
- Click on the banner image element, holding down the left mouse button, and drag it to the desired position on the selected page.
- Click on the Add image button and choose between an image from your computer or the Unsplash image database. Please note that the width of the image should be at least 1240 pixels.
- Move the image using the arrow icons or by holding down the left mouse button until the section you want is displayed. Zoom in and out of the graphic by turning the mouse wheel
- Finish the positioning with Save.
To edit the banner image, for example the background design or the animation type, move your mouse pointer over the desired banner image. Select the desired operation from the buttons displayed at the top of the screen.
