Web hosting contracts before 2010 with the website builder option
Please use the “Print” function at the bottom of the page to create a PDF.
Valid for Website Builder.
Older IONOS web hosting contracts before 2010 would sometimes include the homepage construction kit called, "Website Builder". This article explains how to export this content.
Note
When moving your website, check the scope of any licenses used, e.g. for images from the IONOS image pool. As a rule, these licenses are not transferable.
Export Website Builder installation
Check the Website Builder directory:
- Log in to your IONOS account.
- Click on Menu > Hosting in the title bar. If you have several hosting contracts, select the desired contract.
- Click on the Use Webspace button on the Webspace tile. The Webspace Explorer is displayed.
- Search for a directory that begins with "WSB". This contains the data for Website Builder.
Download data from Website Builder directory:
- Determine your connection data (FTP user name and password) for sFTP. You can find an overview of your sFTP connection data in your IONOS account:
- Install an FTP program, e.g. FileZilla
- Use the FTP program to download the data from the directory "WSB..." directory. Detailed instructions on how to download data can be found in the Help Centre article "Transfer files securely with FTP".
Alternative export options
In addition to the export via sFTP described above, you can also export your website via the web browser or the additional HTTrack program. The Help Centre article "Website builders: Overview of export options" explains how.
