Getting started with Nextcloud Workspace

Nextcloud Workspace from IONOS is your digital workplace to easily and securely manage, share, and collaborate on your data online. This article gives you an overview and introduces you to Nextcloud Workspace.

What is Nextcloud Workspace?

Nextcloud Workspace is the European alternative to Microsoft 365, and makes it possible to securely store and synchronise files, calendars, contacts, and other data on your own server so that users can access them from anywhere. It offers features such as sharing, collaborative editing, and app integrations without passing on data to external cloud providers.

Activate

Once you have ordered your Nextcloud Workspace package, you will find the Nextcloud Workspace tile in your IONOS account. If you also use other IONOS cloud storage products, you will find Nextcloud Workspace under the Cloud Storage tile. The Help Centre article "Activating Nextcloud Workspace" explains how to do this.

Log in

After the initial setup, Nextcloud Workspace is ready. The various access options are explained in the Help Centre article "Logging in to Nextcloud Workspace".

Manage

The first step is to create users in your Nextcloud Workspace. If required, create groups, e.g. to map teams or departments. The administration functions for users are summarised in the article Managing users in Nextcloud Workspace.

Use

Nextcloud Workspace can be used on many end devices. The Help Centre article "Using Nextcloud Workspace on your computer and mobile phone" explains how to find the right apps for this.
