Connecting Your Domain to a Managed WordPress Website

Managed WordPress makes it easier for you to set up and maintain your website while providing outstanding performance and security. With its optimised installation, simplified management, and a wide range of the best themes and plugins, Managed WordPress makes it easy and convenient to maintain your WordPress website.

You can connect a domain or subdomain to your Managed WordPress website in just a few clicks from the 1&1 IONOS App Centre. We automatically set up the domain and WordPress database in the background.

Connecting a Domain during WordPress Installation

If you have not yet installed WordPress, you can use the installation wizard to easily connect your domain or subdomain to your WordPress installation. To launch the installation wizard, select WordPress in the suggested apps section of the 1&1 IONOS App Centre catalogue and then click Create Website.

If you do not want to select the domain during the installation, you can always change the connected domain later.

Connecting a Domain to an Existing WordPress Website

If you have not yet connected your Managed WordPress website to a domain and want to do this after installation, click Connect Domain on the 1&1 IONOS App Centre overview page. Select an available domain or subdomain from your contract and click Connect Domain. The domain will then be connected to your website.

To change a domain that you previously connected to your Managed WordPress website, click Change Domain on the 1&1 IONOS App Centre overview page. Select an available domain or subdomain from your contract and click Change Domain.
