Valid for: IONOS hosting contracts
This article explains what you need to bear in mind when switching hosting providers.
Domains you own
- As a domain owner, you can transfer your domains to another provider at any time. However, if you want to terminate your contract, you must observe its minimum contract term.
- If you terminate a contract without specifying what should happen to its domains, we will return the domains to the relevant registries once the contract has ended. For .uk domains (including .co.uk, .org.uk and similar), we will change the domain's IPS tag to DETAGGED. The domain remains registered to you, but any connected services such as websites and email will stop working. To continue using the domain, contact Nominet, the .uk registry, to have it retagged to a registrar of your choice. If you take no action, Nominet will contact you when the domain is due for renewal, and if it isn't renewed, it will be suspended and later released for registration by others.
