Not sure why you are receiving an invoice from IONOS when the amount of your order has already been taken from your payment method's available balance? Will this result in being charged twice?
This hold on your funds is simply known as a reservation fee, and we can assure you that you will never be charged twice for the same order. Here's how it works:
IONOS sends the amount of your purchase total for authorization to your financial institution. Once authorized, this amount is placed on hold and removed from your available balance immediately. When you receive your invoice, the transaction clears and the hold is released to IONOS.
If the reservation fee is unsuccessful during the order process, you will be asked to provide an alternative payment method. The order will only process when the authorization hold is successful.
What if I cancel while there is a reservation fee held on my payment method?
If we successfully process an authorization hold on your order but you decide to cancel it before receiving your invoice or within a 30-day money back guarantee period, the funds held will be released within 28 days.
