To use a domain for web pages, email, and other functions, you can set it up using Plesk after you have successfully registered it. To set up a domain registered with IONOS on your server with Plesk:
You have already set up the desired domain at IONOS.
You have enabled port 8443 in the firewall policy assigned to your server.
You have logged in to Plesk as an administrator.
Install Domain Connect
When you install a IONOS image with Plesk, Domain Connect is active by default. To check if Domain Connect is installed, do the following:
In the navigation bar on the left, click Extensions.
Open the My Extensions tab and check if Domain Connect is displayed.
To install Domain Connect in Plesk for Linux, do the following:
In the Extensions Catalog tab, type Domain Connect in the search box.
Select Domain Connect.
Click Install for free.
The Domain Connect extension will be installed.
Connect Domain to the Static IP Address of the Server
Click Domains in the navigation bar on the left.
Click Add Domain.
In the Registered Domain Name field, type the domain name you want.
In the Username field, type the desired username.
In the Password field, type the password and repeat it.
Optional: Enable the Protect Domain via Let's Encrypt option.
Optional: Check the Enable Git support option.
To add the domain, click OK.
The domain will be set up. A message in the following format will be displayed:
Do you want to connect [DOMAIN-NAME] to Plesk automatically? Connect using Domain Connect.
Do you want to connect example.com to Plesk automatically? Connect using Domain Connect.
To connect the domain to the server's static IP address, click the Connect using Domain Connect link.
The Connect your IONOS Domain to Web Hosting on Plesk window will open.
Log in to IONOS.
Your domain is now connected to Plesk Obsidian.
