Valid for Cloud Servers, migrated Cloud Servers, and VPS+.

This article explains how to assign block storage to a Cloud Server, a migrated Cloud Server, or a VPS+.

To access block storage, you must assign it to a server. This server must be located in the same data centre and be covered under the same contract. Please note that block storage can be assigned to only one server at a time. After assigning the block storage, you must configure the disk settings within your operating system. Here is how to assign Block Storage to a server:

  • Log in to your IONOS account.
  • Click on Menu > Servers & Cloud in the title bar.
Optional: If you have multiple server contracts, select the desired contract.

  • Click on Infrastructure > Block Storage in the navigation bar on the left.

  • Select the desired block storage.

  • Click on the pencil icon in the Assigned to: line. A window opens.

  • In the window, select the server to which the block storage is to be assigned.

  • Click on Save changes.

The block storage is assigned to the server.
