The Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) supports people with disabilities in participating in digital life. This article provides you with an overview of how to implement certain requirements of the BFSG in your MyWebsite Now project.

What is the BFSG?
- The BFSG fefines rules to ensure that certain products and services are accessible to consumers.
- It has been in effect since June 28, 2025.
- The BFSG is based on the EU directive "European Accessibility Act" (EAA). Germany has transposed the EAA into national law with the BFSG.
- The law only defines objectives and required functionalities. It does not specify exactly how they are to be implemented.
- The reference for accessibility is the European standard for digital accessibility and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in version 2.1.
- The BFSG applies exclusively to companies that operate in Germany or offer digital products and services in Germany. Exceptions are regulated by law.
