Overview: Enabling the withdrawal function in the shop
Below is an overview of the steps required to provide an electronic withdrawal function (cancellation form, withdrawal button) in your shop. This can be used even if a customer is not logged in.
- Find your shop ID.
- Create your individual link to the withdrawal form.
- Include a link to the withdrawal form in the footer of your MyWebsite page.
- Adapt your legal texts.
Find the shop ID
Every MyWebsite shop has a unique shop ID, which forms part of the shop’s web address (URL). You will need this shop ID to create a link to your withdrawal form.
A complete shop address looks like this, for example (for data protection reasons, part of the address has been replaced with asterisks):
https://estore-sslserver.eu/my-eshop.info/epages/d14f7b**-****-****-****-**********0f.admin/
The shop ID is the combination of letters and numbers between epages/ and .admin. In the example, the shop ID would be as follows: d14f7b**-****-****-****-**********0f
Create a link to the withdrawal form
Enter your shop ID in the link below, replacing the placeholder “NUMBER”.
https://estore-sslserver.eu/my-eshop.info/epages/NUMMER.sf/?ViewAction=ViewOrderCancelForm
Test the finished link by opening it in a new browser tab. Your shop’s withdrawal form should be displayed.
Insert a link in the footer
- Open your MyWebsite Editor.
- In the MyWebsite menu on the right-hand side, click Settings.
- In the Customise and Adjust Website section, click on SEO and Footer.
- In the Footer and copyright statement section, insert the following HTML link. Replace the placeholder NUMBER with your shop ID:
<a href="https://estore-sslserver.eu/my-eshop.info/epages/NUMMER.sf/?ViewAction=ViewOrderCancelForm">Withdraw from contract</a>
Using the example given earlier, the link would look like this:
<a href="https://estore-sslserver.eu/my-eshop.info/epages/d14f7b**-****-****-****-**********0f.sf/?ViewAction=ViewOrderCancelForm">Withdraw from contract</a>
- Click Save to complete your entry.
Adapt legal texts
The following legal texts on your website must be amended:
- Cancellation policy: Must include a reference to the electronic withdrawal function and be adapted to the relevant sales channel. If there are several online sales channels, a separate cancellation policy is required for each channel.
- Privacy policy: Must include information on the processing of personal data in connection with the electronic withdrawal function.
Next steps
Using the withdrawal form does not mean that your customer’s withdrawal automatically takes effect. You must therefore, as required by law, confirm receipt of the withdrawal without delay and then check it, for example with regard to time limits and grounds for exclusion.
