Do I need to install any software to use the personal AI assistant?

No. IONOS GPT is a browser-based, all-in-one AI assistant. This means you do not need to download and install any separate software; you can simply access the service via your preferred browser. The only requirement is that you register and log in using a valid email address.

What does the Thinking function (brain icon) do in the chat?

You can use the brain icon (Thinking) in the bottom left-hand corner of the input field to enable reasoning for your query. This feature is available for all eight specialised AI assistants.

When this feature is enabled, the AI takes a little longer to analyse the query in greater depth and to process it in a more structured way. As a result, it takes a moment longer to generate the response. You can follow the AI’s thought process by clicking on the Thinking complete drop-down section above the finished answer.

What does the web search function (globe icon) do in the chat?

IONOS GPT features an integrated web search function. This enables the AI to incorporate up-to-date data, events, and news directly from the internet into its responses.

You can activate the web search manually by clicking the globe icon (Search) in the input field. If you do not activate the icon, the AI can still use the web search automatically in the background, should your inquiry require up-to-date information.
