Managing HiDrive Next users

Valid for HiDrive Next.

HiDrive Next can be used as cloud storage for multiple users to collaborate on documents or share files. This article explains how to manage users in HiDrive Next.

Notes

  • HiDrive Next users are managed in the IONOS account.

  • The maximum number of available users depends on your package type.

Access the HiDrive Next user overview in your IONOS account

  • Log in to your IONOS account.
  • In the title bar, click Menu > HiDrive Next. If you also use other IONOS cloud storage products, click Menu > Cloud Storage.
  • Click the Open button on the relevant HiDrive Next tile. The user overview for HiDrive Next will open.

Create a user

You are currently in the HiDrive Next user overview for your IONOS account.

  • On the right-hand side of the HiDrive Next user overview, click the Create user button.
  • Choose between using an existing Mail Basic or Mail Business user, or creating a new user.
    New user option: Enter the username and password. The suffix “@my.ionos.com” cannot be changed.
  • Confirm your entries by clicking the Create user button.

Change username

You are currently viewing the HiDrive Next user overview for your IONOS account.

  • In the row containing the desired user, click on the three-dot menu(Action) > Change username.

  • Enter the new username. The suffix “@my.ionos.com” cannot be changed.

  • Confirm your entries by clicking the Change username button.

Change password

You are currently viewing the HiDrive Next user overview for your IONOS account.

  • In the row containing the desired user, click on the three-dot menu(Action) > Change password.

  • Enter the new password.

  • Confirm your entries by clicking the Change password button.

Link IONOS email account

You are currently viewing the HiDrive Next user overview for your IONOS account.

  • In the row containing the desired user, click on the three-dot menu(Action) > Link existing email account.

  • Select an existing IONOS Mail Basic or Mail Business user.

Delete user

You are currently viewing the HiDrive Next user overview for your IONOS account.

To delete a user, click on the three-dot menu(Action) in the row containing the relevant user and choose  Delete user from the context menu. Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete user and files button.

Warning

  • All files belonging to this user on your HiDrive Next will be deleted.
  • If this is the only user, HiDrive Next cannot be used until a new user has been created.
