Setting Up a Mail Basic Account in Thunderbird Manually

For Mail Basic & Mail Business email accounts.

Learn how to set up your Mail Basic or Mail Business account in Thunderbird to send and receive email.

Mail Business accounts can be set up in Outlook for email use only. To access your address book, calendar, tasks and drives , please log in to IONOS Webmail.

Step 1

Open Mozilla Thunderbird.

Step 2

Select Local Folders from the menu on the left and then click Email under Set up an account.

Step 3

Enter your name, email address and password. Then click Continue.

Step 4

Select an Incoming mail type and enter the remaining information:

Type Server hostname Port
IMAP 993
SMTP 587
Username Incoming Username Outgoing
Your full email address Your full email address

Step 5

Click the Re-test button.

Step 6

Click the Done button.

You have now successfully set up your IONOS email account in Mozilla Thunderbird.
