Creating entire websites with artificial intelligence (AI)

MyWebsite Now helps you create your website using artificial intelligence (AI) and predesigned templates. This article provides an overview and explains how you can get your entire online project up and running quickly and easily.

Note

The AI creation dialog appears the first time you open MyWebsite Now, or after resetting it.

Open MyWebsite Now

  • Log in to your IONOS account.
  • Click on Menu > Web Projects in the title bar.
  • Click the Manage project button on the tile for the project you want.

The creation dialog will open automatically if you do not yet have an active MyWebsite Now. You now have two options for setting up your website:

  • AI dialog: Set up your website with the help of AI via the chat window

  • Website template: Set up your website by selecting a template

Below you will find details of both set-up options.

Use the AI dialog to create

To use the AI assistance when creating your website, enter a description of your business or your website idea in the chat window. Complete your entry by clicking the Start building button. The AI will now ask for your company or website name, and the sector or purpose of your desired website.

After a short processing time, your screen will split into a chat window on the left and a preview of your website on the right. In the chat window, the AI will suggest several predefined changes using the quick actions. Alternatively, you can enter instructions directly into the chat window. Please note that during setup, only global changes are possible, e.g., “Change all backgrounds” or “Use red and green colours”. Detailed changes, such as text adjustments, can be made after creation using the website editor. You’ll find further instructions on this in the Help Centre section “Editing MyWebsite Now content”.

To complete your creation, click the Use this website button in the top right-hand corner. The Presence Suite will open, allowing you to make further customisations to your new website. The Help Centre article “Getting started with the Presence Suite” provides an overview.

Tips for communicating with AI

Communication with the MyWebsite Now AI agent should flow like a natural conversation. Please bear in mind the following recommendations when formulating your instructions (prompts):

  • Identity and sector: Who are you and what exactly do you do? For example: “Modern physiotherapy centre” rather than simply “practice”
  • Target audience: Who is the web project intended to appeal to? For example: “young families”, “B2B companies”, “older people with chronic pain”
  • Unique Selling Proposition (USP): What makes you special? For example: “Focus on sustainability”, “24/7 emergency service”, “locally sourced ingredients”
  • Style and atmosphere: What visual and emotional impact should your web project have? For example: “minimalist and professional”, “warm, welcoming, and friendly”

In summary, your instructions or prompt would look similar to this. Replace the text in brackets with your own details.

Create a website for [identity and sector]. Our primary target audience is [target audience]. What makes us special is [unique selling point]. The visual and emotional style should be [style and atmosphere].

For an independent car repair workshop, the MyWebsite Now AI prompt might look like this:

Create a website for an independent car repair workshop with no brand affiliation. Our primary target audience is price-conscious customers. What sets us apart is our specialisation in older cars and classic cars from before 2000, which we also restore and sell ourselves. The visual and emotional style should be professional and elegant.

Use the website template to create a website

Alternatively, a website can be created without AI support, using website templates. These templates have been designed by design experts and can also be easily customised in terms of style and colours. Here too, minor changes – such as adjustments to the text – can only be made after the site has been created using the website editor. You’ll find further instructions on this in the “Editing MyWebsite Now content” section of the Help Centre.

To create a MyWebsite Now using a website template:

  • Log in to your IONOS account.

  • Click on Menu > Web Projects in the title bar.

  • Click the Manage project button on the tile for the project you want. The setup window will open.

  • Click on one of the website templates below the chat window.

  • Select a background option and a colour palette.

  • Enter the name of your company or the planned website, and select up to 10 industries or categories that your web project belongs to.

  • Enter your contact details.
