Swiss provider pCloud offers reliable data pro­tec­tion. This is com­ple­men­ted by secure AES-256 and TLS/SSL en­cryp­tion. For data centres, pCloud offers cer­ti­fic­a­tions according to ISO 27001 for IT security and ISO 9001 for quality man­age­ment. Client-side en­cryp­tion is also available with the pCloud En­cryp­tion add-on. Thanks to user-friendly in­ter­faces, the storage service offers teamwork and col­lab­or­a­tion op­por­tun­it­ies through shared data access. Private users can use pCloud to store large media files and access services like the pCloud web player, cloud music lists and cloud streaming. Cost: Although IONOS HiDrive doesn’t offer a free package, you can choose from flexible packages at a fair price. For example, you have 100 GB at your disposal for just £1.50 per month. Se­cure­Cloud

The cloud service Se­cure­Cloud offers reliable AES-256 end-to-end en­cryp­tion and data centres with ISO cer­ti­fic­a­tion. Your data is encrypted before upload and trans­mit­ted via SSL/TLS. This OneDrive al­tern­at­ive is par­tic­u­larly suitable for business customers. Companies can benefit from in­teg­rated web office ap­plic­a­tions, efficient team col­lab­or­a­tion features, centrally stored and device-in­de­pend­ent data, as well as rights and role man­age­ment.

Cost: There is no free package. Se­cure­Cloud offers private customers 10 GB for around £3 per month, 100 GB from around £6 per month, and up to 1,000 GB for around £45 per month. For business customers, packages start at just over £3 per month for 50 GB per user (from 2 users). There’s also the Advanced package with 100 GB per user (from 10 users) for around £7 per month. The En­ter­prise package offers even more storage.

Se­cure­Cloud does not offer a free package. The Business package provides 50 GB per user for teams of at least two people for around £3 per month per user, while the Advanced package offers 100 GB per user for teams of at least ten people for around £6 per month per user. Google Drive

Besides OneDrive, Google Drive is one of the most suc­cess­ful cloud services. The big advantage is that it includes Gmail, Docs, Spread­sheets, Forms and Contacts. All you need to access the storage service is a Google account that’s connected to Drive. Backups can be made ef­fort­lessly and auto­mat­ic­ally, and data or emails can be syn­chron­ised across devices. Third-party apps can also be used with Drive, and data can be shared and edited centrally and in real time. Google servers offer reliable data security, AES-256 en­cryp­tion, and spam and malware pro­tec­tion. Data is stored on U.S. servers.

Cost: Google Drive offers 15 GB for free for all users with a Google account. Paid Google One packages provide 100 GB for around £1.60 per month or 2 TB for around £8 per month. iCloud

The cloud storage iCloud is the standard for Apple users with an Apple ID but can also be used by Windows users with the desktop app iCloud for Windows. Thanks to the Apple software package, Apple services such as the word processor Pages or the spread­sheet cal­cu­lat­or Numbers are also available without in­stall­a­tion.

Cost: iCloud offers 5 GB of free cloud storage. For more storage, as well as premium features like your own email address and domain, and iCloud Private Relay, you’ll need to upgrade to iCloud+.
